THE OLD JEROME CHURCH

Right in the picturesque old center of coastal Noordwijk inland village there’s an impressive medieval church, named after the towns Patron Saint; Jerome (8the century). The building is nowadays also in use as an event location, just as it was back in the Middle Ages. In those days it was beside a space for church services, also the village school and  the general gathering place for locals and Market Vendors. The Old Jerome Church is big, but not supersized like many cathedrals, which allows us to tastefully decorate and furnish the main area into a space where you’ll still feel at ease.

The sober (typical protestant) character of the Jerome church makes it very suitable for international groups. Convenient because in convention town Noordwijk there’s need of a ‘location outside’ (the hotels f.i.) where one can receive large assemblies.

Gallery Klooster where the maximum amount of guests is 450, is 7 days a week available. The Old Jerome Church only 6 days, because on Sundays there are church services. A few years ago the main space was made suitable for events during weekdays and Saturday because a member of the Dutch royal family organised his wedding there. Therefore the impressive old building (it’s wooden predecessor was approximately build in 900 A.C., the first stone version in the 12th century) got amongst others a new kitchen, modern toilet facilities and sufficient power supply. Now the Old Jerome Church can host up to 800 people (and 500 guests when there’s a sitting dinner). The building has 857 m2 floor area en is offers all facilities for seminars, large business meetings, conventions, business dinners, receptions, presentations (including fashion shows) etc.

At the front of the building  there’s a striking square and at the back it has a garden. A terrace or an attached marquee is therefore an attractive extra possibility at this location. Important to know is also that there’s enough parkingspace at walking distance of the venue. The Old Jerome Church and Klooster have preferred caterers, but are not bound to any of them.
